I suffered a MVA in 1995. I was 18 and had just started studying medicine. I had extensive surgery in my right foot with fore foot amputation followed by split thickness grafting from below the level of my ankle. The surgery was quite successful and the graft remained very stable. However, I did not get adequate support and guidance with regards to footwear. My family and I experimented on various footwear from retail stores and we added insoles to the footwear in order to reduce pressure and friction. I left to UK in 2002 and moved to Australia in 2007. While overseas I had consulted various surgeons, podiatrists and orthotists and I tried different insoles. I continued to have problems with pain and ulceration in my sole. My father suggested seeing Mr.Sutharsan when I went on a holiday to India earlier this year. I was initially skeptical but MR.Sutharsan assessed me and offered to make a pair of shoes to try. I could feel the difference straight away in terms of comfort and reduced pain. I have had a number of pairs done by him since then and I have no reservations in saying that they have shown utmost care in combining medical science and aesthetics. More importantly I have had much less ulceration of my foot. I wish I have known him a lot earlier.
